Unfinished Post Card

In fact not half finished!
I joined a '6x4' group a few days ago. The group challenge is to make at least one textile post card each month, not necessarily to trade. I felt like doing something a bit disciplined as I usally faff about, often getting nowhere.
I found the deck chair fabric panel that Maureen sent me some time ago and decided to make a card for July on a Summer theme. I felt sure that I'd finish it by today.
Well I didn't - we have visitors coming tomorrow and Friday so it won't get finished until early August. (August?? where have those seven months gone to?)
I've uploaded the unfinished piece to prove to myself that at least I started it in July.
I know I'll blanket stitch the edge next, add a few tiny shells on the beach and white fly stitch birds in the blue patch on the left.
Hopefully the edging will take up quite a bit of the remaining two patches - I can't think what to do there - maybe a few seed beads and leaves.
Then I'll have lots of time to do a card for August - but I'm sure to be rushing it in the last few days again - that's how I work!

Am I Improving?

I had to take a pic of this little geranium bloom struggling to find light through the Euonymous - and it's a symbol of my struggle through the technology of blogging!
Today after trying this and that to make the layout of the page different (? better - I don't know!)I managed to change the date headings to GMT!!! That pleased me so much as I've muttered and tutted lots about it - so I am improving slowly but don't ask me how I did it!

Now I'm Old!!!

My mum used to laugh at this poem and say she knew the feeling - now I do!

Petunia

I'm just addicted to Amazing Circles from dumpr!
Is that sad I ask myself? Maybe, but at least I don't wear a red hat and purple clothes - yet!

Mahonia in July

Mahonia has to be one of my favourites in each season. It was lovely in Winter with frost and even snow for a few days - then the thick clusters of yellow flowers and lovely perfume and now the rich blue berries. All year round the leaves are glossy, often tinged red - I love it!
Later today I had to make an Amazing Circle in dumpr program.
I love that too.

(The background is a neighbour's tree - gorgeous, I often take a photo of it but just forget the name - must look it up.)

In the garden today

The lobelia and petunias look so dramatic today as they reach out

.... to the sun and the cloudless sky (well - a few wisps now and then and often aeroplane trails!).
We have two small apple trees in the garden - below them used to be lawn - what has happened to the grass?
Never mind I quite like weeds, even though John doesn't, and I enjoy taking photos of this and that!

Wylde Women Award

Oh dear - see upload below.
Once more I can't get upload and links right.
I just hope all my talented friends will be able to get this award.
I think you will be able to pick it up via Leticia - link with her through her comment on my ATC 'In the Garden' below.
Sorry to make things difficult I really should have some lessons in IT, my trial and error methods keep failing me! Connie.

ATC 'In th Garden'

John and I enjoy the scenery when watching the Tour de France - though we know little about the racing and the complicated system of points. I knew we would sit and watch lots today as it was going through the Alps so I sorted out an old piece of crash linen and did this simple freestyle embroidery - one eye on one thing & one on the other! I always enjoy doing this kind of naive, very basic, stitching.

Lovely Lawn Daisies!

I love them - John doesn't.

At least I've got photos and even an 'Amazing Circle' (made in Dumpr program).
